In the 3rd minute, Timoteo Rufio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gaspar Cruz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alejandro Gaztea having to interfere. Alejandro Gaztea made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gaspar Cruz in the 10th minute of play. After 11 played minutes Tacañitas got a freekick which was hit by Timoteo Rufio. If Gaspar Cruz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Timoteo Rufio during the 18th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Mendiolaza booed when Tacañitas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Timoteo Rufio didn't get a good kick on the ball. The long shot by Serafin Eneko in the 19th minute really tested Alejandro Gaztea's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. If Gaspar Cruz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Tacañitas booed when Mendiolaza was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Patricio Txerran didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jonathan Chesus might have been able to make a better finish in the 32nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Martin Mirande. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. After 32 played minutes Mendiolaza got a freekick which was hit by Patricio Txerran. 35 minutes into the match, Jonathan Chesus notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Mendiolaza's Martin Mirande. Martin Mirande was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 39thth minute of the game Valentin Abalos who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Mendiolaza's Martin Mirande was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 41st minute, Florencio Confesor got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Mendiolaza's zone, Valentin Abalos stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Martin Mirande came out of the goal and Valentin Abalos tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, Tacañitas's Fulgencio Maureo got a free kick in the 47th minute. 49 minutes in the game Serafin Eneko after having made a beautiful turn got a great opportunity to score and fired away a shot that went just to the left past a relieved Alejandro Gaztea. A very good opportunity. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gaspar Cruz to make the kick off. Alejandro Gaztea showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gaspar Cruz in the 54th minute of the match. If Jonathan Chesus had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jonathan Chesus received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Martin Mirande tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Anastasio Charro kicked well hit freekick during the 59th minute of the match. Gaspar Cruz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Alejandro Gaztea didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Mendiolaza. Gaspar Cruz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Mendiolaza booed when Tacañitas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. Timoteo Rufio didn't get a good kick on the ball. Martin Mirande showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jonathan Chesus, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute. In the 92nd minute Jonathan Chesus shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Martin Mirande saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Alejandro Gaztea stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Gaspar Cruz's shot from short distance in the 96th minute. 98 minutes into the match, Tacañitas's goal looked a bit too open when Gaspar Cruz came free, but Alejandro Gaztea reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The Mendiolaza supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Tacañitas's performance. The match ended with a win for Tacañitas.
