Victorino Ugutz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Epifanio Gudesteo having to interfere. Epifanio Gudesteo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marcial Palben in the 26th minute of play. Ulises Tome fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Epifanio Gudesteo having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 37th minute, Omar Calisto managed to get in a good position for a shot. Maquinchao AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Omar Calisto was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Braulio Cordarrol breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 39 minutes into the game, Salvador Regis was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Arequito's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Maquinchao AFC the free kick. Salvador Regis kicked well hit freekick during the 39th minute of the match. Arequito's Salvador Regis got his second yellow card of the match in the 41st minute. The referee ordered Salvador Regis off the ground. Braulio Cordarrol showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alonzo Edwardo, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. Ulises Tome might have been able to make a better finish in the 47th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Epifanio Gudesteo. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ulises Tome ran back to his position shaking his head. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Alonzo Edwardo to make the kick off. Celestino Lizar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Braulio Cordarrol having to interfere. A collision led to Arequito getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Victorino Ugutz hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Celestino Lizar in the 62nd minute of play forced Arequito's goalkeeper Braulio Cordarrol to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Celestino Lizar received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Braulio Cordarrol tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Evaristo Hanni charged in rather forcefully in the 67th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Evaristo Hanni the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Maquinchao AFC booed when Arequito was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Evaristo Hanni didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Omar Calisto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When Victorino Ugutz fell near the penalty area in the 76th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Arequito's protests and gave Victorino Ugutz a yellow card for diving instead. After 77 played minutes Arequito got a freekick which was hit by Victorino Ugutz. Arequito's Victorino Ugutz got his second yellow card of the match in the 78th minute. The referee ordered Victorino Ugutz off the ground. In the 79th match minute, Arequito was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Victorino Ugutz to maneuver through the defense. After 80 played minutes, Maquinchao AFC's Dante Urritz shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Braulio Cordarrol came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Maquinchao AFC reached it. If Celestino Lizar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Celestino Lizar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 97th minute of the match Francisco Virila shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Braulio Cordarrol showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. The Arequito players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented Maquinchao AFC from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
