In the 5th minute, Everardo Manuelo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 7 minutes in the game Tomas Txema after having made a beautiful turn got a great opportunity to score and fired away a shot that went just to the left past a relieved Elpidio Cloyo. A very good opportunity. If Israel Paulin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With his leg Elpidio Cloyo managed to avoid a goal in the 14thth minute, when Catúa's Israel Paulin fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Emilio Chano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With an all-out effort, Catúa's Elpidio Cloyo threw himself towards the right post 24 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Alejo Abechuco, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. After having played for 28 minutes, Denis Macerio managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Lapataia FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Denis Macerio was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Teobaldo Fagondo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Emilio Chano in the 30th minute of the match. Teobaldo Fagondo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Denis Macerio in the 32nd minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 39th minute, Israel Paulin managed to get in a good position for a shot. Catúa's supporters rose to their feet, but Israel Paulin was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Elpidio Cloyo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Alejo Abechuco struck a weak shot in the 41st minute. Elpidio Cloyo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Catúa. Emilio Chano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Teobaldo Fagondo having to interfere. Teobaldo Fagondo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Denis Macerio in the 47th minute of play. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Emilio Chano made a kick off. Catúa's Teobaldo Fagondo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Emilio Chano in the 51st minute of play. Israel Paulin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Alejo Abechuco in the 63rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Elpidio Cloyo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. A collision led to Lapataia FC getting a freekick after 70 minutes play. Tomas Benino hit a great ball. Lapataia FC's Emilio Chano got a good chance for a goal in the 80th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 81 played minutes Catúa got a freekick which was hit by Anastasio Urbasa. Teobaldo Fagondo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Emilio Chano, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute. Severino Valente charged in rather forcefully in the 84th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Severino Valente the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Severino Valente kicked well hit freekick during the 84th minute of the match. Israel Paulin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Elpidio Cloyo having to interfere. After 89 played minutes Catúa got a freekick which was hit by Antonio Maiorga. An unexpectedly hard shot by Emilio Chano in the 91st minute of play forced Catúa's goalkeeper Teobaldo Fagondo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Catúa getting a freekick after 94 minutes play. Leonardo Filipo hit a great ball. Teobaldo Fagondo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Emilio Chano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
