When the match had gone on for 27 minutes, Guaberto Selmo put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Gilberto Maore. Americo Harriet sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gilberto Maore stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Aquiles Eriz's shot from short distance in the 33rd minute. In the 35th minute, Pocitos FC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Leonides Victoro fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Roque Lizar showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Americo Harriet, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. After a defensive mix-up in Palmita's zone, Aquiles Eriz stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gilberto Maore came out of the goal and Aquiles Eriz tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

In the 53rd minute, Mauricio Osoitz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Pocitos FC's Roque Lizar played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leonides Victoro in the 61st minute of play. When Nunez Calixto fell near the penalty area in the 64th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Pocitos FC's protests and gave Nunez Calixto a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Palmita booed when Pocitos FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nunez Calixto didn't get a good kick on the ball. After recieving a nice pass, Palmita's Isaias Matteo tried to score from far away in the 65th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Roque Lizar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Americo Harriet in the 70th minute of play. Pocitos FC's Aquiles Eriz came free and shot a quick shot against goal 74 minutes in the game, fortunately Gilberto Maore had problems saving as it came toward the left post. Guaberto Selmo struck a weak shot in the 78th minute. Gilberto Maore didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Pocitos FC. When Amador Caton fell near the penalty area in the 83rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Pocitos FC's protests and gave Amador Caton a yellow card for diving instead. When Americo Harriet came up free with the goalie in the 85th minute, the Palmita fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Americo Harriet couldn't finish the play.
