In the 8th minute Joaquin Quirce shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alfonso Ler saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Fulgencio Arnau fell near the penalty area in the 13th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Grüttly's protests and gave Fulgencio Arnau a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Fulton AFC booed when Grüttly was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fulgencio Arnau didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Abelardo Jurdan in the 17th minute of play forced Fulton AFC's goalkeeper Carolo Cheche to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Joaquin Quirce had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 23rd minute, Joaquin Quirce managed to get in a good position for a shot. Fulton AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Joaquin Quirce was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Alfonso Ler breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Abelardo Jurdan blasted a shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Carolo Cheche having to make a save. In the 27th minute the ball was on its way in behind Fulton AFC's goalkeeper Carolo Cheche, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Abelardo Jurdan in the 31st minute of play forced Fulton AFC's goalkeeper Carolo Cheche to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tobias Romano might have been able to make a better finish in the 32nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Carolo Cheche. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Tobias Romano ran back to his position shaking his head. Carolo Cheche made an important save on a dangerous shot by Tobias Romano in the 35th minute. Alfonso Ler showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joaquin Quirce, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. Carolo Cheche made a fantastic save in the 41st minute, when Tobias Romano sent off a good shot on target. After having played for 45 minutes, Abelardo Jurdan managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Grüttly's supporters crossed their fingers, but Abelardo Jurdan was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.

Joaquin Quirce could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 76th minute of the match, but Alfonso Ler made a huge save. In the 78th minute, Joaquin Quirce made a precise shot to the right of Alfonso Ler. Grüttly's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2.
