A collision led to Barker FC getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Horacio Colas hit a great ball. After having played for 32 minutes, Leopoldo Bordat managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Petroquímica AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Leopoldo Bordat was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Clemente Ermengol had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Clemente Ermengol struck a weak shot in the 36th minute. Eduardo Gabirel didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Petroquímica AFC. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rigoberto Isauro in the 40th minute of play forced Petroquímica AFC's goalkeeper Atilano Francesco to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Clemente Ermengol was extremely unlucky when he, in the 42nd minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out.
