Eduardo Gabirel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Amador Balendin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Amador Balendin came up free with the goalie in the 7th minute, the Chaviyú AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Amador Balendin couldn't finish the play. 9 minutes into the game, Mauro Petri cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Eduardo Gabirel was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When Horacio Colas fell near the penalty area in the 15th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Barker FC's protests and gave Horacio Colas a yellow card for diving instead. After 15 played minutes Barker FC got a freekick which was hit by Horacio Colas. In the 16th minute of the match Severo Marino shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Eduardo Gabirel showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 27th minute, Amador Balendin managed to get in a good position for a shot. Chaviyú AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Amador Balendin was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Eduardo Gabirel breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Nicasio Francis hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. Chaviyú AFC's Agustin Orti proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 40th minute of the match, managed to save Chaviyú AFC from getting a goal against them. Rigoberto Isauro might have been able to make a better finish in the 45th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Agustin Orti. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Rigoberto Isauro ran back to his position shaking his head. The Barker FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Chaviyú AFC were winning 0-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Amador Balendin made a kick off. Amador Balendin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 56th minute Amador Balendin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eduardo Gabirel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Fabio Firmo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Eduardo Gabirel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In a very dangerous position, a player in Barker FC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 61st minute. Penalty! Nicasio Francis hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. Barker FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 69th minute, when Amador Balendin scored to the left of an out of position Eduardo Gabirel, making the score, 0-3. If Candido Celino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Barker FC's Rigoberto Isauro got a good chance for a goal in the 86th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Eduardo Gabirel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Amador Balendin, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute. The audience was convinced that Amador Balendin's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Eduardo Gabirel was relentless in the 91st minute of the game. Barker FC's Horacio Colas got his second yellow card of the match in the 95th minute. The referee ordered Horacio Colas off the ground. A collision led to Barker FC getting a freekick after 96 minutes play. Horacio Colas hit a great ball. 100 minutes into the match, Barker FC's goal looked a bit too open when Fabio Firmo came free, but Eduardo Gabirel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Chaviyú AFC eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
