Matias Casado took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bernardino Laffitte, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 14 minutes into the match, Manantiales FC's goal looked a bit too open when Froilan Calvet came free, but Matias Casado reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Enrique Gai charged in rather forcefully in the 19th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Enrique Gai the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Feliciano Evis to make the kick off. Matias Casado didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Bernardino Laffitte went, in the 51st minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. After a rather tough play, Alvear AFC's Enrique Gai got a free kick in the 58th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 67th minute, Guillermo Prejun managed to get in a good position for a shot. Manantiales FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Guillermo Prejun was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cristo Quintyn breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. During the 68th minute of the match Enrique Gai completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Enrique Gai a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. The supporters of Manantiales FC booed when Alvear AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Enrique Gai didn't get a good kick on the ball. Guillermo Prejun sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
