Rigoberto Bernat came out of the goal in the 5th minute to try and stop a shot by Goyeneche FC's Alberto Tomi. But to his dismay, Alberto Tomi quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Maximo Clodio took the ball and in the 8 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Rigoberto Bernat. Rigoberto Bernat dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. Maximo Clodio struck a weak shot in the 20th minute. Rigoberto Bernat didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Goyeneche FC. In the 23rd minute Ovidio Omero shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rigoberto Bernat saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Apolo Sotero sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Maximo Clodio came up free with the goalie in the 30th minute, the Goyeneche FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Maximo Clodio couldn't finish the play. Eulalio Gorosti's late challenge caught a Goyeneche FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Eulalio Gorosti helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Albariño's Eulalio Gorosti got a free kick in the 32nd minute. Alberto Tomi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Rigoberto Bernat tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 35 minutes into the game, Paulo Kepa was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Albariño's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Goyeneche FC the free kick. In the 35th match minute, Albariño was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Paulo Kepa to maneuver through the defense. Severiano Cordeal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 46 minutes of play, Goyeneche FC's Maximo Clodio made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Rigoberto Bernat was left in no man's land by his defense there! Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.
When Guido Gombal fell near the penalty area in the 51st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Goyeneche FC's protests and gave Guido Gombal a yellow card for diving instead. Guido Gombal hit a great freekick 51 minutes into the match. Dionisio Rexino showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Apolo Sotero, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. If Maximo Clodio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. With an all-out effort, Goyeneche FC's Rigoberto Bernat threw himself towards the right post 65 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Maximo Clodio, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. An unexpectedly hard shot by Apolo Sotero in the 68th minute of play forced Goyeneche FC's goalkeeper Dionisio Rexino to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Albariño's Rigoberto Bernat proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 70th minute of the match, managed to save Albariño from getting a goal against them. The audience thought a goal was coming when Alberto Tomi got free with Rigoberto Bernat in the 79th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After having played for 81 minutes, Apolo Sotero managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Albariño's supporters crossed their fingers, but Apolo Sotero was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Rigoberto Bernat took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Maximo Clodio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Albariño's Paulo Kepa got a free kick in the 85th minute. Alberto Tomi struck a weak shot in the 89th minute. In the 95th match minute, Goyeneche FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ovidio Omero to maneuver through the defense. The Goyeneche FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Goyeneche FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
