Ruben Sidro came out of the goal and Froilan Furtado tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 37th minute, Froilan Furtado ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ruben Sidro was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. After 40 played minutes Saira got a freekick which was hit by Adolfo Urtun. When Piñero FC's Maximino Jaunzuria in the 42nd minute got a chance for a shot 42nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Saira's goalie prevented a goal. The Saira players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Piñero FC were winning 1-2.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Fabian Hitzeder was the one to do the kick off. Cosme Olayo hit a great freekick 51 minutes into the match. Piñero FC's Ruben Sidro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Froilan Furtado in the 54th minute of play. 55 minutes into the game, Saira's Rogelio Maju nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ruben Sidro made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-2. Cosme Olayo was shown his second yellow card after 58 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. The supporters of Saira booed when Piñero FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cosme Olayo didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 63rd minute, Froilan Furtado managed to get in a good position for a shot. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Froilan Furtado in the 68th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ruben Sidro saved Piñero FC from getting behind. Froilan Furtado fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ruben Sidro having to interfere. Ruben Sidro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Froilan Furtado in the 77th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Saira's zone, Maximino Jaunzuria stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Saturnino Mingo came out of the goal and Maximino Jaunzuria tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Froilan Furtado had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
