After a defensive mix-up in Salto AFC's zone, Roque Abel stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Serafin Mendez came out of the goal and Roque Abel tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 26 played minutes Ilisca got a freekick which was hit by Ismael Lorencio. After having played for 27 minutes, Prudencio Arlo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Salto AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Prudencio Arlo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 28th match minute, Ilisca was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lázaro Benat to maneuver through the defense. If Filiberto Orlandus had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Prudencio Arlo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Braulio Tibalt having to interfere. Roque Abel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Serafin Mendez having to interfere. 42 minutes into the match, Jaime Quentin had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Serafin Mendez. Salto AFC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jaime Quentin was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

In the 53rd match minute, Salto AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Filiberto Orlandus to maneuver through the defense. 54 minutes into the match, Salto AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Jaime Quentin came free, but Serafin Mendez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Salto AFC's Prudencio Arlo got a free kick in the 56th minute. Salto AFC's Serafin Mendez proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 59th minute of the match, managed to save Salto AFC from getting a goal against them. After 67 played minutes Salto AFC got a freekick which was hit by Leonides Tabor. Ilisca's Lázaro Benat couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 68th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Salto AFC. Prudencio Arlo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 78 minutes into the match, Salto AFC's Marcial Constancio sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Braulio Tibalt narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 85th minute of the match Leonides Tabor sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Braulio Tibalt skillfully saved the ball. Roque Abel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Marcial Constancio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Braulio Tibalt took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marcial Constancio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
