The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 18 minutes into the match, Iturreguí FC's Manuel Mero sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Tiburcio Betadur narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When Marcial Pelayo fell near the penalty area in the 24th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Iturreguí FC's protests and gave Marcial Pelayo a yellow card for diving instead. After 24 played minutes Iturreguí FC got a freekick which was hit by Marcial Pelayo. Mauricio Javiar received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Dalmacio Txindoki tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Mauricio Javiar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cosme Chago sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Esther getting a freekick after 36 minutes play. Fulgencio Illan hit a great ball. When Manuel Mero came up free with the goalie in the 40th minute, the Iturreguí FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Manuel Mero couldn't finish the play. Manuel Mero received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Tiburcio Betadur tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Modesto Brion came up free with the goalie in the 46th minute, the Iturreguí FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Modesto Brion couldn't finish the play. After a defensive mix-up in Esther's zone, Manuel Mero stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tiburcio Betadur came out of the goal and Manuel Mero tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After the first half Esther were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Manuel Mero made a kick off. In the 53rd minute Manuel Mero shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tiburcio Betadur saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cosme Chago might have been able to make a better finish in the 76th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Dalmacio Txindoki. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Cosme Chago ran back to his position shaking his head. Mauricio Javiar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dalmacio Txindoki having to interfere. Iturreguí FC's Dalmacio Txindoki proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 88th minute of the match, managed to save Iturreguí FC from getting a goal against them. After 91 played minutes Iturreguí FC got a freekick which was hit by Jacinto Teyo. A hard shot by Evelio Iturri from long distance, 93 minutes into the match, got Dalmacio Txindoki's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mauricio Javiar in the 96th minute of play forced Iturreguí FC's goalkeeper Dalmacio Txindoki to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Esther walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
