In the 2nd minute, Javier Montrel hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Carolo Aimar took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cecilio Columbo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Javier Montrel in the 23rd minute of play forced Juanillo's goalkeeper Carolo Aimar to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 25 minutes into the game, Valentin Vincent was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Juanillo's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Maciá FC the free kick. In the 26th minute, Valentin Vincent hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 26 played minutes, Maciá FC's Feliciano Oso shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Carolo Aimar came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Maciá FC reached it. In the 27th minute, Constantino Cheche hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Javier Montrel recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 30th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Gaudencio Barros hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. Juanillo's Manuel Transito couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 37th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Maciá FC. 39 minutes into the match, Maciá FC's goalkeeper Atilano Rey had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Domingo Tristan. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Javier Montrel in the 43rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Carolo Aimar saved Juanillo from getting behind. After a defensive mix-up in Maciá FC's zone, Domingo Tristan stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Atilano Rey came out of the goal and Domingo Tristan tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.
With a little luck, Juanillo's Carolo Aimar got control of the ball when Cecilio Columbo tried to sneak it across the goal line. Cecilio Columbo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Carolo Aimar read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 54th minute of play. After having played for 55 minutes, Javier Montrel managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Maciá FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Javier Montrel was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Atilano Rey showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lucas Terciero, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. Adolfo Bartuelo's late challenge caught a Juanillo's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Adolfo Bartuelo helped the player get up and apologised. In the 59th minute, Adolfo Bartuelo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 64th play minutes Constantino Cheche shot 1-0, a short shot which went by Atilano Rey and just under the crossbar into goal. Carolo Aimar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Javier Montrel in the 68th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Juanillo's Mariano Quintyn got a free kick in the 69th minute. When Lucas Terciero came up free with the goalie in the 73rd minute, the Juanillo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lucas Terciero couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, Maciá FC's Adolfo Bartuelo got a free kick in the 74th minute. After 77 played minutes Maciá FC got a freekick which was hit by Gaudencio Barros. During the 79th minute of the match Adolfo Bartuelo completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Adolfo Bartuelo a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. In the 79th match minute, Maciá FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Adolfo Bartuelo to maneuver through the defense. Javier Montrel hit a great freekick 81 minutes into the match. In the 86th minute, Lucas Terciero made a precise shot to the right of Atilano Rey. Maciá FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. Lucas Terciero fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 97th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Atilano Rey having to interfere. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Juanillo fully deserved thier win.
