Fabricio Chuan's late challenge caught a Tambillos FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Fabricio Chuan helped the player get up and apologised. 7 minutes into the game, Tambillos FC's Camilo Guillerme nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Epifanio Brion made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Epifanio Brion made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Domingo Olivar in the 10th minute of play. Camilo Guillerme received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Epifanio Brion tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 31st minute, Domingo Olivar hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Camilo Guillerme fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Epifanio Brion having to interfere. In the 35th minute, Fabricio Chuan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Tambillos FC's Domingo Olivar got a good chance for a goal in the 39th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 40th match minute, Rivas was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Candido Laurentzi to maneuver through the defense. Domingo Olivar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some careless play in the Rivas defense, Camilo Guillerme kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Epifanio Brion. The Rivas fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Epifanio Brion should have stopped the shot. Silverio Ted fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 49th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vicente Urti having to interfere. After the first half Tambillos FC were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Camilo Guillerme made a kick off. Clodoveo Cristofol kicked well hit freekick during the 54th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Diego Manni in the 64th minute of play forced Tambillos FC's goalkeeper Vicente Urti to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 77 minutes, Silverio Ted managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Rivas's supporters crossed their fingers, but Silverio Ted was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Diego Manni hit a great freekick 79 minutes into the match. Tambillos FC's Vicente Urti played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Diego Manni in the 82nd minute of play. Domingo Olivar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Tambillos FC's zone, Silverio Ted stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Vicente Urti came out of the goal and Silverio Ted tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Tambillos FC walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
