The audience was convinced that Joel Eriz's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Norberto Ixidor was relentless in the 31st minute of the game. If Arsenio Iigo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 37th minute Silverio Nisio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Filomeno Isusko saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Cotagaita AFC's Ramon Eneas got a free kick in the 61st minute. After a defensive mix-up in Paikín FC's zone, Arsenio Iigo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Filomeno Isusko came out of the goal and Arsenio Iigo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 68 played minutes Cotagaita AFC got a freekick which was hit by Ramon Eneas. Norberto Ixidor stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Candido Firmo's shot from short distance in the 71st minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 74th minute, Candido Firmo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Paikín FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Candido Firmo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Norberto Ixidor breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Cotagaita AFC's Silverio Nisio got a good chance for a goal in the 76th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Abelardo Vito's late challenge caught a Paikín FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Abelardo Vito helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Cotagaita AFC's Abelardo Vito got a free kick in the 80th minute. Haroldo Ponc hit a great freekick 85 minutes into the match. Arsenio Iigo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 89th minute of the match, but Filomeno Isusko made a huge save. 92 minutes into the match, Cotagaita AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Candido Firmo came free, but Norberto Ixidor reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 93rd match minute, Cotagaita AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Niceto Katia to maneuver through the defense. Joel Eriz's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Norberto Ixidor read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 96th minute of play. Joel Eriz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 98th minute. Norberto Ixidor tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
