Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of Varela booed when Puestito AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 4 match minutes in a wonderful position. Basilio Bernat didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 6th minute Aquilino Banegas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aldo Domeka saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Puestito AFC's Aldo Domeka proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 11th minute of the match, managed to save Puestito AFC from getting a goal against them. After a defensive mix-up in Varela's zone, Gaston Micael stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bernardo Valentine came out of the goal and Gaston Micael tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 15th minute of the match Puestito AFC got a corner. Varela's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Erubiel Birila ran over to the corner to take the kick. Erubiel Gaitan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bernardo Valentine having to interfere. Gaston Micael fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bernardo Valentine having to interfere. Gaston Micael received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Bernardo Valentine tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 25 minutes, Aquilino Banegas mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Varela and the Puestito AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Jorge Tebaldos short, quick shot in the 36thth minute got Aldo Domeka to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Bernardo Valentine showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Erubiel Gaitan in the 37th minute of the match. Bernardo Valentine didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Erubiel Gaitan went, in the 40th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. After 46 played minutes Varela got a freekick which was hit by Arnoldo Neto. The Varela players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Puestito AFC were winning 0-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Aquilino Banegas was the one to do the kick off. In the 52nd minute Aquilino Banegas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aldo Domeka saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 54th minute, one of Varela:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Varela. Aldo Domeka showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jorge Tebaldo, who was totally free with the ball in the 61st minute. In the 62nd minute, Jorge Tebaldo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Aquilino Banegas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jorge Tebaldo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Aldo Domeka tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Varela's Aquilino Banegas got a good chance for a goal in the 69th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 73 minutes into the match, Puestito AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Aquilino Banegas came free, but Aldo Domeka reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 75 minutes into the match, Varela's goal looked a bit too open when Erubiel Gaitan came free, but Bernardo Valentine reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Puestito AFC's Aldo Domeka played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aquilino Banegas in the 77th minute of play. Godfredo Naelio's late challenge caught a Varela's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. After some fancy dribbling in the 80th minute, Aquilino Banegas managed to get in a good position for a shot. Varela's supporters rose to their feet, but Aquilino Banegas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Aldo Domeka breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 82nd minute, Varela's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Erubiel Gaitan fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. The Puestito AFC fans' excitement grew in the 86th match minute when Puestito AFC's Erubiel Gaitan looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-3 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. After a defensive mix-up in Puestito AFC's zone, Aquilino Banegas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat.
