Matambre AFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Panambí the free kick. In the 18th match minute, Matambre AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gaston Endura to maneuver through the defense. After some careless play in the Matambre AFC defense, Teofilo Cedro kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Eriberto Laffitte. The Matambre AFC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Eriberto Laffitte should have stopped the shot. After having played for 28 minutes, Emiliano Sazon managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Matambre AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Emiliano Sazon was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 29 minutes into the game, Silverio Torres was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Panambí's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Matambre AFC the free kick. A collision led to Panambí getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Silverio Torres hit a great ball. 32 minutes into the game, Matambre AFC's Emiliano Sazon nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Alfredo Pudes made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Alfonso Dominic during the 34th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Alfonso Dominic hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. When Bruno Txanton came up free with the goalie in the 37th minute, the Matambre AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bruno Txanton couldn't finish the play. Celestino Lopez's late challenge caught a Panambí's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Celestino Lopez helped the player get up and apologised. After 39 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Matambre AFC! In the 41st minute there was a penalty for Panambí. Inocencio Toro stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Eriberto Laffitte. 2-1. In the 46th minute of the match Feliberto Cucao shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Eriberto Laffitte showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 48th minute, Teofilo Cedro managed to get in a good position for a shot. Panambí's supporters rose to their feet, but Teofilo Cedro was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Eriberto Laffitte breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Carlos Loiola made a kick off. After having played for 63 minutes, Carlos Loiola managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Panambí's supporters crossed their fingers, but Carlos Loiola was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
