After a rather tough play, Esquina's Higinio Leoiar got a free kick in the 7th minute. In the 11th minute Carmelo Lico shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vladimiro Bixintxo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Carmelo Lico had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 17th minute, Inocencio Quilino got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 21 minutes into the match, Colelache AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Nereo Abalos came free, but Vladimiro Dolfos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Vladimiro Dolfos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Inocencio Quilino, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 28 minutes into the game, Nereo Abalos cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Vladimiro Dolfos was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Gaudencio Chago hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. Colelache AFC's Vladimiro Dolfos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nereo Abalos in the 35th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Colelache AFC's zone, Nereo Abalos stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Vladimiro Dolfos came out of the goal and Nereo Abalos tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After having played for 38 minutes, Inocencio Quilino managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Esquina's supporters crossed their fingers, but Inocencio Quilino was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 40th minute, Inocencio Quilino managed to get in a good position for a shot. Esquina's supporters rose to their feet, but Inocencio Quilino was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Vladimiro Dolfos breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Nereo Abalos made a kick off. In the 53rd minute of the match Esquina got a corner. Colelache AFC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Higinio Leoiar ran over to the corner to take the kick. Florencio Abel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vladimiro Bixintxo having to interfere. 61 minutes into the game, Martin Piorno was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Colelache AFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Esquina the free kick. Esquina's Nereo Abalos got a good chance for a goal in the 67th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 70 minutes of play, Colelache AFC's Florencio Abel made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Vladimiro Bixintxo was left in no man's land by his defense there! The supporters of Colelache AFC booed when Esquina was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Higinio Leoiar didn't get a good kick on the ball. Inocencio Quilino struck a weak shot in the 83rd minute. Vladimiro Dolfos didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Esquina. In the 87th minute Florencio Abel shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vladimiro Bixintxo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Inocencio Quilino came up free with the goalie in the 92nd minute, the Esquina fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Inocencio Quilino couldn't finish the play. If Carmelo Lico had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Esquina supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Esquina would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
