When Arrufó AFC's Gogo Abeijon, in the 10th minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for Arrufó AFC. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gaston Gasteiz in the 14th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Reynaldo Larpe prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Hipolito Bero kicked well hit freekick during the 16th minute of the match. Reynaldo Larpe came out of the goal in the 19th minute to try and stop a shot by Garayalde's Gaston Gasteiz. But to his dismay, Gaston Gasteiz quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Epifanio Raymond hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. In the 23rd minute Gaston Gasteiz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Reynaldo Larpe saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Gogo Abeijon fell near the penalty area in the 24th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Arrufó AFC's protests and gave Gogo Abeijon a yellow card for diving instead. Garayalde were furious when Simon Grabiel was red carded, 42 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. After 41 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Garayalde! The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Candido Rumaldo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Arrufó AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gogo Abeijon was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Pedro Abreu during the 58th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card.
