Leonides Llin didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Marciano Figueroa went, in the 19th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. After having played for 22 minutes, Daniel Orland managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Carapaligüe's supporters crossed their fingers, but Daniel Orland was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Marciano Figueroa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Marciano Figueroa in the 25th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Leonides Llin saved Tacuaruzú from getting behind. Mario Florian charged in rather forcefully in the 26th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Mario Florian the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 26th minute, Mario Florian hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 27th minute Marciano Figueroa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Leonides Llin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 29 minutes, Marciano Figueroa managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Carapaligüe's supporters crossed their fingers, but Marciano Figueroa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Marciano Figueroa, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 33 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Leonides Llin was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Tacuaruzú's Leonides Llin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Orland in the 37th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Daniel Orland in the 41st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Leonides Llin prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 42nd match minute, Tacuaruzú was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alejo Odon to maneuver through the defense. When Tacuaruzú's Nemesio Clemencin in the 44th minute got a chance for a shot 44th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Carapaligüe's goalie prevented a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Orland in the 48th minute of play forced Tacuaruzú's goalkeeper Leonides Llin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

After 51 played minutes Tacuaruzú got a freekick which was hit by Candido Txindoki. If Marciano Figueroa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ramiro Faro hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. In the 59th minute, Mario Florian hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 63 minutes into the match, Tacuaruzú's goalkeeper Leonides Llin had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Daniel Orland. Tacuaruzú's Leonides Llin proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 67th minute of the match, managed to save Tacuaruzú from getting a goal against them. Pascual Dacio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Leonides Llin made a fantastic save in the 73rd minute, when Daniel Orland sent off a good shot on target. Leonides Llin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marciano Figueroa in the 74th minute of play. The attack was good, but when Daniel Orland in the 80th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. Leonides Llin was out of position in the 83 minute of play, and Marciano Figueroa capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Marciano Figueroa really showed his touch with that goal: 1-2. After a defensive mix-up in Tacuaruzú's zone, Daniel Orland stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Leonides Llin came out of the goal and Daniel Orland tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Humberto Lehior kicked well hit freekick during the 87th minute of the match. 89 minutes into the match, Daniel Orland notched a goal, 1-3, to the right of Tacuaruzú's Leonides Llin. Leonides Llin was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Carapaligüe's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
