Eleuterio Astrada fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lisandro Nofre having to interfere. If Eleuterio Astrada had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Fausto Dayam struck a weak shot in the 23rd minute. Tadeo Celino didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cambaceres. Cambaceres's Silverio Bertran was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 27th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. 32 minutes into the game, Isidro Gregory was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Cambaceres's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Salto FC the free kick. After 33 played minutes Cambaceres got a freekick which was hit by Isidro Gregory. If Ildefonso Nevada had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Lisandro Nofre showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eleuterio Astrada, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. In the 40th match minute, Salto FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tomas Raphael to maneuver through the defense. After 42 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Salto FC! When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Eleuterio Astrada to make the kick off. Cambaceres's Silverio Bertran pulled a muscle in his leg after 54 minutes and couldn't finish the game. Santiago Espiridion's late challenge caught a Cambaceres's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Santiago Espiridion helped the player get up and apologised. Salto FC's Tadeo Celino played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Saturnino Pabla in the 61st minute of play. After having played for 66 minutes, Saturnino Pabla managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cambaceres's supporters crossed their fingers, but Saturnino Pabla was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Dalmacio Theobald received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Tadeo Celino tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Saturnino Pabla came up free with the goalie in the 69th minute, the Cambaceres fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Saturnino Pabla couldn't finish the play. Generoso Suarez took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 76th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Lisandro Nofre. Cambaceres's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. When Eleuterio Astrada came up free with the goalie in the 78th minute, the Salto FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Eleuterio Astrada couldn't finish the play. Ildefonso Nevada sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ildefonso Nevada fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lisandro Nofre having to interfere. 88 minutes into the game, Dalmacio Theobald was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Eleuterio Astrada received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Lisandro Nofre came out and tried to block the shot, but Eleuterio Astrada slotted it home off the left post making it 3-1 in the 92nd minute. There was no doubt that Cambaceres were the better team. Cambaceres's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
