Varela FC's Eleuterio Ortle got a good chance for a goal in the 10th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 21st minute of the match Florencio Jacob sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Celestino Hernandez skillfully saved the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Isidro Tximitx kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Celestino Hernandez. That made the score 2-0 in the 23 minute of play. In the 26th minute Leon Fagondo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arnulfo Vedillo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Luciano Tonete sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Celestino Hernandez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Isidro Tximitx, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a little luck, Varela FC's Celestino Hernandez got control of the ball when Luciano Tonete tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 40th match minute, Varela FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marco Gutierrez to maneuver through the defense. Celestino Hernandez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Felix Dominic, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Arnulfo Vedillo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Leon Fagondo's shot from short distance in the 44th minute.

The wind increased when Leon Fagondo made the kick off in the second half. When Cienega's Isidro Tximitx in the 56th minute got a chance for a shot 56th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Varela FC's goalie prevented a goal. Felix Dominic sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Cesar Esdras missed a clear chance of a goal when in the 64 minute of the game fired away a shot, but unfortunally the ball went out to the Celestino Hernandez right hand side. Samuel Dalmau blasted a shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Celestino Hernandez having to make a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luciano Tonete in the 78th minute of play forced Varela FC's goalkeeper Celestino Hernandez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Eleuterio Ortle recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 81st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Varela FC's Rene Abecia got a good chance for a goal in the 82nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Leon Fagondo fell near the penalty area in the 85th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Varela FC's protests and gave Leon Fagondo a yellow card for diving instead. Leon Fagondo kicked well hit freekick during the 85th minute of the match. Eleuterio Ortle received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Arnulfo Vedillo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Cienega getting a freekick after 88 minutes play. Samuel Dalmau hit a great ball. Isidro Tximitx received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Celestino Hernandez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. For all the effort they put into the match, the Varela FC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Cienega.
