San Lorenzo Arenales's supporters crossed their fingers, but Arnulfo Celino was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Erasmo Dino was the one to do the kick off. Sergio Olivar received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Oscar Iraido tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cesar Blai hit a great freekick 57 minutes into the match. When Arnulfo Celino came up free with the goalie in the 59th minute, the San Lorenzo Arenales fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Arnulfo Celino couldn't finish the play. Sixto Mendiko might have been able to make a better finish in the 62nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Oscar Iraido. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Sixto Mendiko ran back to his position shaking his head. Arnulfo Celino received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Erasmo Dino blasted a shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Artemio Arnas having to make a save. If Erasmo Dino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Artemio Arnas made an important save on a dangerous shot by Marcelino Galeno in the 83rd minute. San Lorenzo Arenales's Artemio Arnas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Erasmo Dino in the 89th minute of play. A collision led to San Lorenzo Arenales getting a freekick after 94 minutes play. Gregorio Gorka hit a great ball. If Erasmo Dino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. San Lorenzo Arenales's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
