Carolo Millano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Erasmo Dino in the 17th minute of play. When the match had gone on for 18 minutes, Edelmiro Garci put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Oscar Iraido. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edelmiro Garci in the 21st minute of play forced Bazinga! U21's goalkeeper Oscar Iraido to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The River Plate fans' excitement grew in the 23rd match minute when River Plate's Edelmiro Garci looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. Oscar Iraido tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Carolo Millano showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Erasmo Dino, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. If Edelmiro Garci had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Marcelino Galeno could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 38th minute of the match, but Carolo Millano made a huge save. The supporters of River Plate booed when Bazinga! U21 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Diego Joanes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Edelmiro Garci sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Erasmo Dino to strike the kick off in the second half. Guaberto Oier was shown his second yellow card after 71 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. Guaberto Oier kicked well hit freekick during the 72nd minute of the match. If Edelmiro Garci had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With his leg Oscar Iraido managed to avoid a goal in the 81stth minute, when River Plate's Edelmiro Garci fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Bazinga! U21's Oscar Iraido proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 85th minute of the match, managed to save Bazinga! U21 from getting a goal against them. In the 88thth minute of the game Edelmiro Garci who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Bazinga! U21's Oscar Iraido was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. River Plate's Edelmiro Garci got a good chance for a goal in the 94th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When the final whistle sounded River Plate left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Bazinga! U21.
