After 5 played minutes Club Saenz Peña got a freekick which was hit by Jimeno Garoa. Alfonso Gonsalve received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 7th minute. Paulo Beltxe tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 9 minutes into the match, Bernabe Ourente notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Club Saenz Peña's Paulo Beltxe. Paulo Beltxe was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Alfonso Gonsalve sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Melquiades Cedro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 21st minute, Guaberto Breogan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Bernabe Ourente sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Guido Escobar kicked well hit freekick during the 25th minute of the match. Bernabe Ourente received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Everardo Foro was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 36th minute Jimeno Garoa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Everardo Foro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Constantino Gutierrez fell near the penalty area in the 38th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Estudiantes de Olavarría's protests and gave Constantino Gutierrez a yellow card for diving instead. Constantino Gutierrez hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. After 40 played minutes, Club Saenz Peña's Agustin Lia shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Everardo Foro came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Club Saenz Peña reached it. In the 43rd minute of the match Agustin Lia shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Everardo Foro showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Andres Segio hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The wind increased when Melquiades Cedro made the kick off in the second half. Club Saenz Peña's Paulo Beltxe played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bernabe Ourente in the 53rd minute of play. 57 minutes into the game, Estudiantes de Olavarría's Bernabe Ourente nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Paulo Beltxe made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Severiano Eguerdi in the 63rd minute of play forced Estudiantes de Olavarría's goalkeeper Everardo Foro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Alfonso Gonsalve had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Club Saenz Peña's Jimeno Garoa got a free kick in the 70th minute. 72 minutes into the match, Club Saenz Peña's goal looked a bit too open when Bernabe Ourente came free, but Paulo Beltxe reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alfonso Gonsalve in the 73rd minute of play forced Club Saenz Peña's goalkeeper Paulo Beltxe to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 75th minute, Melquiades Cedro ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Everardo Foro was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-2. Estudiantes de Olavarría's Alfonso Gonsalve got a good chance for a goal in the 82nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 83rd minute Bernabe Ourente shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Paulo Beltxe saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Everardo Foro made a fantastic save in the 91st minute, when Jimeno Garoa sent off a good shot on target. When Guido Escobar fell near the penalty area in the 92nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Club Saenz Peña's protests and gave Guido Escobar a yellow card for diving instead. After a defensive mix-up in Club Saenz Peña's zone, Alfonso Gonsalve stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Paulo Beltxe came out of the goal and Alfonso Gonsalve tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.
