With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ovidio Ihazintu prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Aquiles Gartzi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ovidio Ihazintu having to interfere. The audience was convinced that David Lain's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ovidio Ihazintu was relentless in the 17th minute of the game. Ovidio Ihazintu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from David Lain in the 20th minute of the match. Elias Ofelio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Emanuel Joey having to interfere. 26 minutes into the match, Caballa's goalkeeper Emanuel Joey had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Godfredo Koldo. Elias Ofelio struck a weak shot in the 41st minute. Emanuel Joey didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Olavarría FC. Ovidio Ihazintu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from David Lain, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. Anibal Ubendu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ovidio Ihazintu having to interfere. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Anibal Ubendu to make the kick off. In the 58th minute Anibal Ubendu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ovidio Ihazintu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Olavarría FC's Elias Ofelio got a good chance for a goal in the 62nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpected shot in the 83rd minute by Anibal Ubendu got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. In the 89th minute of the match, Anibal Ubendu tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Ovidio Ihazintu saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. After some fancy dribbling in the 90th minute, Elias Ofelio managed to get in a good position for a shot. Olavarría FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Elias Ofelio was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Emanuel Joey breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Anibal Ubendu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Ovidio Ihazintu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ovidio Ihazintu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Aquiles Gartzi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
