Ismael Iraunkor was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 11th minute, Gonzalo Bilbo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 13th minute Pablo Columbo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dionisio Bortzaioriz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Mariño AFC booed when Pozuelos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Edgardo Elizardo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Dionisio Bortzaioriz didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Inocencio Orlondon went, in the 15th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. Virgilio Argi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Ismael Iraunkor tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Pablo Columbo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. With a little luck, Pozuelos's Dionisio Bortzaioriz got control of the ball when Inocencio Orlondon tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Pablo Columbo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Pablo Columbo to strike the kick off in the second half. After some fancy dribbling in the 52nd minute, Pablo Columbo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mariño AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Pablo Columbo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dionisio Bortzaioriz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Pablo Columbo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dionisio Bortzaioriz having to interfere. Pablo Columbo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Mariño AFC's Inocencio Orlondon got a good chance for a goal in the 80th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some careless play in the Pozuelos defense, Inocencio Orlondon kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Dionisio Bortzaioriz. The Pozuelos fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Dionisio Bortzaioriz should have stopped the shot. After a rather tough play, Mariño AFC's Gonzalo Bilbo got a free kick in the 85th minute. In the 88th minute Inocencio Orlondon shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dionisio Bortzaioriz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Pablo Columbo came up free with the goalie in the 91st minute, the Mariño AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Pablo Columbo couldn't finish the play. Inocencio Orlondon sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 95thth minute of the game Pablo Columbo who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Pozuelos's Dionisio Bortzaioriz was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Virgilio Argi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Mariño AFC had played much better football throughout.
