Independiente FC's Eleuterio Dabi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adolfo Todor in the 23rd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Adolfo Todor in the 25th minute of play forced Independiente FC's goalkeeper Eleuterio Dabi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Cipriano Llorian came up free with the goalie in the 26th minute, the Independiente FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cipriano Llorian couldn't finish the play. Jesus Harkaitz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Amancio Erasto having to interfere. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Jesus Harkaitz made the kick off in the second half. Independiente FC's attentive Segundo Ermano managed to snatch the ball when Gervasio Maties made a throw-in in the 51st minute of the game. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Eleuterio Dabi showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. The Independiente FC players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
