In the 3rd minute, Cayetano Cugat ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Nereo Bermund was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. After a rather tough play, Escobar's Jeronimo Manuelo got a free kick in the 6th minute. In the 8th minute Real Betis Balompié were awarded a corner. Hipolito Beremundo went to the cornerflag to take it. Hipolito Beremundo made a great header on Real Betis Balompié's corner, it was just that Escobar's Leon Calisto managed to reach the ball for a save. With a little luck, Escobar's Leon Calisto got control of the ball when Angel Elodio tried to sneak it across the goal line. Cayetano Cugat fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nereo Bermund having to interfere. Cayetano Cugat sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jeronimo Manuelo during the 40th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Teobaldo Pacho to make the kick off. In the 57th minute, Urbano Calvino hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience thought it was a sure goal in the 60th minute, when Escobar's Haroldo Herensuge after having done a great run through the defense got himself free with Nereo Bermund in Real Betis Balompié's goal and fired away a shot, but it missed the goal by a fraction of an inch. Cayetano Cugat struck a weak shot in the 64th minute. Nereo Bermund didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Escobar. Escobar's Cayetano Cugat got a good chance for a goal in the 65th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Angel Elodio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Leon Calisto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 72nd minute, Cayetano Cugat managed to get in a good position for a shot. Escobar's supporters rose to their feet, but Cayetano Cugat was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nereo Bermund breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Angel Elodio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 78th minute Teobaldo Pacho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Leon Calisto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Nereo Bermund made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jose Goito in the 80th minute of play. Jose Goito received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Nereo Bermund tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 85th minute Teobaldo Pacho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Leon Calisto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Oscar Lertxun charged in rather forcefully in the 85th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Oscar Lertxun the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 85 played minutes Escobar got a freekick which was hit by Oscar Lertxun. In the 88th minute, Cayetano Cugat left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Escobar fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. After a rather tough play, Escobar's Candido Orlin got a free kick in the 93rd minute. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Escobar walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
