The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The throw-in from Benito Satordi in the 22nd minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by InDePeNdIeNtE's Anacleto Rubio. The audience was convinced that Jonas Rojelio's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Augusto Mendebal was relentless in the 24th minute of the game. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Leonel Montez during the 25th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Paganzo getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Leonel Montez hit a great ball. Anacleto Rubio hit a great freekick 26 minutes into the match. In the 36th match minute, InDePeNdIeNtE was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Anacleto Rubio to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jonas Rojelio in the 38th minute of play forced Paganzo's goalkeeper Augusto Mendebal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 40 minutes into the match, Paganzo's goal looked a bit too open when Vicente Rufo came free, but Augusto Mendebal reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Augusto Mendebal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jonas Rojelio in the 41st minute of play. Damian Frasco made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Oscar Cedro in the 56th minute of play. With a little luck, Paganzo's Augusto Mendebal got control of the ball when Vicente Rufo tried to sneak it across the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 68th minute, Vicente Rufo managed to get in a good position for a shot. InDePeNdIeNtE's supporters rose to their feet, but Vicente Rufo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Augusto Mendebal breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 73rd minute of the match, Vicente Rufo got a very nice opportunity to score, but Augusto Mendebal was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Oscar Cedro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Damian Frasco tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. InDePeNdIeNtE played a much better game than Paganzo and deserved their victory. The Paganzo players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
