Pastor Rocio came out of the goal and Robustiano Benino tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Robustiano Benino struck a weak shot in the 19th minute. Pastor Rocio didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cornurbano FC. Pastor Rocio stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Robustiano Benino's shot from short distance in the 22nd minute. In the 26th minute Angelo Jobo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aureliano Innocenzio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the match had gone on for 29 minutes, Bernardo Refugio put it in 1-1 from a short distance just to the right of Aureliano Innocenzio. After 32 played minutes Pichincha got a freekick which was hit by Bernardo Refugio. 35 minutes into the match, Cornurbano FC's goal looked a bit too open when Bernardo Refugio came free, but Aureliano Innocenzio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience was convinced that Bernardo Refugio's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Aureliano Innocenzio was relentless in the 68th minute of the game.
