SAN LORENZO's supporters crossed their fingers, but Adan Dolcet was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Delmiro Nabar got free with Isidro Iratze in the 8th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a defensive mix-up in Codihué's zone, Nicolas Koldobika stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Isidro Iratze came out of the goal and Nicolas Koldobika tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Apolo Ofelio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Isidro Iratze tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 13th minute, Dario Azubeli made a precise shot to the right of Marco Garaona. SAN LORENZO's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. 17 minutes into the match, SAN LORENZO's goal looked a bit too open when Nicanor Maju came free, but Marco Garaona reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Marco Garaona took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dario Azubeli, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 19th minute, Omar Roldanillo managed to get in a good position for a shot. SAN LORENZO's supporters rose to their feet, but Omar Roldanillo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Isidro Iratze breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Marco Garaona showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dario Azubeli in the 22nd minute of the match. In the 24th minute Dario Azubeli shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marco Garaona saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 24 minutes into the game, Apolo Ofelio was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. SAN LORENZO's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Codihué the free kick. 27 minutes into the game, Codihué's Nicanor Maju nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Marco Garaona made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Nicolas Koldobika could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 30th minute of the match, but Isidro Iratze made a huge save. During the 32nd minute of the match Apolo Ofelio completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Apolo Ofelio a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. Apolo Ofelio kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. In the 34th minute Prudencio Raymon shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marco Garaona saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 35 minutes, Delmiro Nabar mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SAN LORENZO and the Codihué players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 35 played minutes SAN LORENZO got a freekick which was hit by Delmiro Nabar. The referee felt a red card was in order, 37 minutes into the game, when Benedicto Tancredo put in a rough tackle. In the 37th minute, one of SAN LORENZO:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for SAN LORENZO. After some fancy dribbling in the 42nd minute, Omar Roldanillo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Aurelio Ferdinand charged in rather forcefully in the 44th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Aurelio Ferdinand the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of SAN LORENZO booed when Codihué was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aurelio Ferdinand didn't get a good kick on the ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Haroldo Quintin to make the kick off. With a little luck, SAN LORENZO's Marco Garaona got control of the ball when Prudencio Raymon tried to sneak it across the goal line. Omar Roldanillo struck a weak shot in the 54th minute. Isidro Iratze didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SAN LORENZO. Gustavo Jerold hit a great freekick 55 minutes into the match. Haroldo Quintin recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 57th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to Codihué getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Aurelio Ferdinand hit a great ball. In the 67th minute, Haroldo Quintin ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Isidro Iratze was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-3. 70 minutes into the match, Codihué's goal looked a bit too open when Omar Roldanillo came free, but Isidro Iratze reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The Codihué fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Isidro Iratze should have stopped the shot. After 77 played minutes Codihué got a freekick which was hit by Aurelio Ferdinand. Delmiro Nabar struck a weak shot in the 78th minute. Isidro Iratze didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SAN LORENZO. If Haroldo Quintin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When SAN LORENZO's Haroldo Quintin in the 81st minute got a chance for a shot 81st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Codihué's goalie prevented a goal. In the 82nd minute Delmiro Nabar shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Isidro Iratze saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 84 minutes, Haroldo Quintin managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. In the 92nd minute, Haroldo Quintin ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Isidro Iratze was frozen by the shot and now it was 6-3. Haroldo Quintin's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Isidro Iratze read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 95th minute of play. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. SAN LORENZO had played much better football throughout.
