The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Marcelo Baleren showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gonzalo Quintyn in the 11th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Marcelo Baleren prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Fabricio Bixintxo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The crowd rose to their feet as Tinoco FC's Jorge Orlo slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Baldomero Viator. That made the score 1-0 after 14 minutes of play. Marcelo Baleren took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gonzalo Quintyn, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Marcelo Baleren made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lorenzo Ticho in the 21st minute of play. Marcelo Baleren showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gonzalo Quintyn in the 24th minute of the match. Jorge Orlo struck a weak shot in the 27th minute. Baldomero Viator didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Tinoco FC. The audience was convinced that Gonzalo Quintyn's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Marcelo Baleren was relentless in the 31st minute of the game. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gonzalo Quintyn to make the kick off. In the 54th minute Patria o Muerte were awarded a corner. Fabricio Bixintxo went to the cornerflag to take it. With his leg Marcelo Baleren managed to avoid a goal in the 58thth minute, when Patria o Muerte's Gonzalo Quintyn fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 62nd minute Gonzalo Quintyn shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcelo Baleren saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 70th minute, Patria o Muerte's Fabricio Bixintxo ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Marcelo Baleren. Marcelo Baleren yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-1. Gonzalo Quintyn who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 73rdth minute tested the skills of Marcelo Baleren when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Marcelo Baleren made a fantastic save in the 77th minute, when Benedicto Lluques sent off a good shot on target. Marcelo Baleren made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gonzalo Quintyn in the 78th minute of play. Baldomero Viator was left in no man's land by his defense there! With his leg Marcelo Baleren managed to avoid a goal in the 90thth minute, when Patria o Muerte's Gonzalo Quintyn fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. 96 minutes into the match, Tinoco FC's goalkeeper Marcelo Baleren had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Fabricio Bixintxo. After a defensive mix-up in Tinoco FC's zone, Gonzalo Quintyn stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marcelo Baleren came out of the goal and Gonzalo Quintyn tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The Tinoco FC players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
