The supporters of Haile Selassie booed when Bocayuva was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gualterio Elixio didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a little luck, Haile Selassie's Dante Oinatz got control of the ball when Raimundo Teofilio tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Nunez Lopez made a kick off. In the 92nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Bocayuva's goalkeeper Alonzo Guillerme, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar.
