In the 4th minute, Raimundo Teofilio ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Cayetano Joanes was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. 0-2 became the score in the 7th minute when Nunez Lopez elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. The supporters of Atlético Tacú booed when Bocayuva was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Elpidio Nardo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Teofilo Fe, 11 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. With an all-out effort, Atlético Tacú's Alonzo Guillerme threw himself towards the right post 15 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Teofilo Fe, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Atlético Tacú were furious when Arsenio Olivar was red carded, 18 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. After 17 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Atlético Tacú! Cayetano Joanes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nunez Lopez in the 23rd minute of play. Raimundo Teofilio blasted a shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Cayetano Joanes having to make a save. 35 minutes into the game, Bocayuva's Nunez Lopez nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Cayetano Joanes made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-4. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Federico Sazon during the 38th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Epifanio Charro who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 43rdth minute tested the skills of Alonzo Guillerme when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Carlos Mateus received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Alonzo Guillerme tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 46th minute, Carlos Mateus managed to get in a good position for a shot. Atlético Tacú's supporters rose to their feet, but Carlos Mateus was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Alonzo Guillerme breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-5 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Nunez Lopez was the one to do the kick off. Raimundo Teofilio succeeded in the game's 54th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 0-6. Cayetano Joanes was out of position in the 60 minute of play, and Nunez Lopez capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Nunez Lopez really showed his touch with that goal: 0-7. An unexpectedly hard shot by Carlos Mateus in the 72nd minute of play forced Bocayuva's goalkeeper Alonzo Guillerme to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 76 minutes into the match, Atlético Tacú's goal looked a bit too open when Nunez Lopez came free, but Cayetano Joanes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cayetano Joanes made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gualterio Elixio in the 78th minute. Elpidio Nardo's late challenge caught a Atlético Tacú's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Elpidio Nardo helped the player get up and apologised. In the 81st match minute, Bocayuva was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Elpidio Nardo to maneuver through the defense. In the 85th minute, Epifanio Charro got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Bocayuva eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
