Haroldo Bittor took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Osvaldo Demario, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 23rd match minute, mathias FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ubaldo Erlantz to maneuver through the defense. When Carlos Tevez came up free with the goalie in the 24th minute, the Giant Killing fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Carlos Tevez couldn't finish the play. Anastasio Aresti fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Haroldo Bittor having to interfere. In the 42nd minute, Anastasio Aresti left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Giant Killing fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ismael Tallia to make the kick off. Laureano Senio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Haroldo Bittor tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jean-Charles Graffin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ismael Tallia, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. In the 72nd minute Laureano Senio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Haroldo Bittor saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 72 minutes of play mathias FC's Joel Efren was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. A collision led to mathias FC getting a freekick after 73 minutes play. Joel Efren hit a great ball. The Giant Killing fans' excitement grew in the 74th match minute when Giant Killing's Laureano Senio looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 6-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Carlos Tevez might have been able to make a better finish in the 77th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Haroldo Bittor. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Carlos Tevez ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 80th minute, Carlos Tevez got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 82nd minute, Laureano Senio ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Haroldo Bittor was frozen by the shot and now it was 7-0. Giant Killing's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
