Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Ubaldo Endira made the kick off which started today's match. After some careless play in the Codihué defense, Justo Louis kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Cecilio Fanuco. The Codihué fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Cecilio Fanuco should have stopped the shot. Codihué's Cecilio Fanuco played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Emanuel Tolino in the 6th minute of play. 7 minutes into the game, Rogelio Urtsin was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Codihué's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Yupandú FC the free kick. After 7 played minutes Codihué got a freekick which was hit by Rogelio Urtsin. In the 8th minute, Hugo Quinito sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Codihué's Cecilio Fanuco didn't even have to move. After 10 played minutes Codihué got a freekick which was hit by Eugenio Petrigai. In the 14thth minute of the game Ubaldo Endira who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Yupandú FC's Severino Lucero was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 15 minutes into the match, Lino Laurendi notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Codihué's Cecilio Fanuco. Cecilio Fanuco was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After a defensive mix-up in Yupandú FC's zone, Diego Crescencio stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Severino Lucero came out of the goal and Diego Crescencio tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Elpidio Gorbea received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Severino Lucero came out and tried to block the shot, but Elpidio Gorbea slotted it home off the left post making it 1-2 in the 21st minute. Ubaldo Endira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Severino Lucero tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The Yupandú FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Severino Lucero should have stopped the shot. Emanuel Tolino received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Cecilio Fanuco tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 36th minute, Lino Laurendi left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Yupandú FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-3. After some fancy dribbling in the 39th minute, Teodosio Ferrando managed to get in a good position for a shot. Codihué's supporters rose to their feet, but Teodosio Ferrando was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Severino Lucero breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ubaldo Endira in the 44th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Severino Lucero prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Cecilio Fanuco made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lino Laurendi in the 47th minute of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 2-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
The wind increased when Lino Laurendi made the kick off in the second half. Teodosio Ferrando blasted a shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Severino Lucero having to make a save. If Teodosio Ferrando had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Eugenio Petrigai recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 60th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Ubaldo Endira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Severino Lucero showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ubaldo Endira, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. Teodosio Ferrando fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Severino Lucero having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Yupandú FC's zone, Eugenio Petrigai stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Severino Lucero came out of the goal and Eugenio Petrigai tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 72nd minute, Teodosio Ferrando got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 74 minutes into the match, Eugenio Petrigai had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Severino Lucero. Yupandú FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Eugenio Petrigai was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-4. Ubaldo Endira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Severino Lucero tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 80 played minutes Yupandú FC got a freekick which was hit by Justo Louis. 82 minutes into the game, Nunez Jordy cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-4. Severino Lucero was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Eugenio Petrigai took the ball and in the 85 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Severino Lucero. Severino Lucero dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 5-4. Severino Lucero took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eugenio Petrigai, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ubaldo Endira in the 91st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Severino Lucero saved Yupandú FC from getting behind. Ubaldo Endira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Severino Lucero having to interfere. When Elpidio Gorbea came up free with the goalie in the 95th minute, the Codihué fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Elpidio Gorbea couldn't finish the play. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Codihué fully deserved thier win.
