Anthoon Van Heurick tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 17th minute of the match Alejandro Rosalio shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Anthoon Van Heurick showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rafael Marz in the 20th minute of play forced Palmar's goalkeeper Frans Kock to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Anthoon Van Heurick took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Venancio Oxarra, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 25 minutes into the match, Defensores del Dorado's goal looked a bit too open when Albano Cesaro came free, but Anthoon Van Heurick reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Anthoon Van Heurick stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Albano Cesaro's shot from short distance in the 28th minute. Venancio Oxarra took the ball and in the 33 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Anthoon Van Heurick. If Rafael Marz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 41 minutes, Gilberto Ignatius mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Palmar and the Defensores del Dorado players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Defensores del Dorado booed when Palmar was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gilberto Ignatius didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Palmar's Venancio Oxarra got a free kick in the 43rd minute. 45 minutes into the game, Arsenio Txema was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Defensores del Dorado's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Palmar the free kick. A collision led to Defensores del Dorado getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Arsenio Txema hit a great ball. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Venancio Oxarra to make the kick off. In the last second Anthoon Van Heurick throw himself and got hold of the ball when Venancio Oxarra in the 53rdth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. In the 54th minute, Inocencio Ipar hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 64th minute, Gilberto Ignatius managed to get in a good position for a shot. Palmar's supporters rose to their feet, but Gilberto Ignatius was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Palmar's supporters crossed their fingers, but Venancio Oxarra was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Palmar's zone, Victor Galindo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Frans Kock came out of the goal and Victor Galindo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Alejandro Rosalio kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. Silvestre Porfirio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Frans Kock having to interfere. Frans Kock showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rafael Marz in the 75th minute of the match. In the 76th minute, Silvestre Porfirio made a precise shot to the right of Frans Kock. Palmar's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. Rafael Marz recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 80th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 80 minutes of play, Defensores del Dorado's Silvestre Porfirio made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Frans Kock was left in no man's land by his defense there! The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Defensores del Dorado had won after a very even match.
