In the 8th minute, Ruperto Bartuelo left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Catúa AFC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Prudencio Domingues in the 14th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Hipolito Honrio saved Atlethic Tahiel F.C. from getting behind. In the 15th minute of the match Catúa AFC got a corner. Atlethic Tahiel F.C.'s goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Abelardo Beltran ran over to the corner to take the kick. Catúa AFC's Abelardo Beltran was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Hipolito Honrio in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Ruperto Bartuelo blasted a shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Hipolito Honrio having to make a save. After 23 played minutes Atlethic Tahiel F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Israel Veremundo. In the 25th minute Prudencio Domingues shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hipolito Honrio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Cayetano Baumar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gaston Farias fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arnulfo Colas having to interfere. After 33 played minutes, Catúa AFC's Jacobo Delfino shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Hipolito Honrio came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Catúa AFC reached it. Ruperto Bartuelo was extremely unlucky when he, in the 35th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Arnulfo Colas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gaston Farias, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 47 played minutes Atlethic Tahiel F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Miguel Pelagius. Prudencio Domingues struck a weak shot in the 48th minute. Hipolito Honrio didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Catúa AFC. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Gaston Farias to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 55th match minute, Atlethic Tahiel F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Miguel Pelagius to maneuver through the defense. Atlethic Tahiel F.C.'s Hipolito Honrio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Prudencio Domingues in the 59th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Atlethic Tahiel F.C.'s zone, Prudencio Domingues stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Hipolito Honrio came out of the goal and Prudencio Domingues tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of Catúa AFC booed when Atlethic Tahiel F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Arnaldo Ezkerra didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 65th minute, Prudencio Domingues got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Leon Oihenarte hit a great freekick 68 minutes into the match. With a little luck, Catúa AFC's Arnulfo Colas got control of the ball when Cayetano Baumar tried to sneak it across the goal line. Hipolito Honrio stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Prudencio Domingues's shot from short distance in the 75th minute. Hipolito Honrio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Prudencio Domingues, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gaston Farias in the 82nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Arnulfo Colas prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Catúa AFC's Domingo Bertin suffered a concussion in the 85th minute, after a hard challenge, and had to leave the field. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Arnaldo Ezkerra during the 85th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The referee gave Atlethic Tahiel F.C. a penalty, 92 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Uriel Lleir, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Catúa AFC's Arnulfo Colas. 1-1. Hipolito Honrio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ruperto Bartuelo, who was totally free with the ball in the 96th minute. When Ezequiel Min fell near the penalty area in the 98th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Atlethic Tahiel F.C.'s protests and gave Ezequiel Min a yellow card for diving instead. The corner ended in Patricio Nicholas almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Atlethic Tahiel F.C.'s Hipolito Honrio did a great save. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Catúa AFC players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
