When Victoriano Frascuelo in the 23rd play minute got the chance to kick a hard shot on goal from short distance neither the defense or Octavio Larpe kept up with the ball and suddenly the score was 1-0 when the ball slipped into goal inside the left pole. When Ovidio Bernad came up free with the goalie in the 31st minute, the Cúspide FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ovidio Bernad couldn't finish the play. The crowd rose to their feet as Cúspide FC's Ovidio Bernad slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Octavio Larpe. That made the score 2-0 after 34 minutes of play. With a little luck, Monteverde's Octavio Larpe got control of the ball when Victoriano Frascuelo tried to sneak it across the goal line. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Victoriano Frascuelo made the kick off in the second half. Mauro Chepe made a fantastic save in the 57th minute, when Gustavo Juvenal sent off a good shot on target. Gustavo Juvenal charged in rather forcefully in the 61st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Gustavo Juvenal the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 61st match minute, Monteverde was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gustavo Juvenal to maneuver through the defense. If Ovidio Bernad had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead.
