When Nicasio Nastasio fell near the penalty area in the 40th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Palmira's protests and gave Nicasio Nastasio a yellow card for diving instead. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The crowd rose to their feet as Cristian Medina kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Anier Alvarez. That made the score 0-4 in the 97 minute of play. When the match was over Palmira could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Roma de la Boca throughout the match.
