After having played for 18 minutes, Adrian Arnalt managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sepultura's supporters crossed their fingers, but Adrian Arnalt was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 25 played minutes Gaona FC got a freekick which was hit by Domingos Rufo. 26 minutes into the match, Sepultura's Adrian Arnalt broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. 29 minutes into the match, Sepultura's goalkeeper Anier Beremundo had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Carlos Camerino. Adrian Arnalt sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Eduardo Telmo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Justo Mendez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Valentin Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Eduardo Telmo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Justo Mendez's shot from short distance in the 37th minute. The audience was convinced that Justo Mendez's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Eduardo Telmo was relentless in the 40th minute of the game. Eduardo Telmo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Justo Mendez in the 43rd minute of the match. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Eduardo Telmo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 62 minutes into the match, Gaona FC's goal looked a bit too open when Justo Mendez came free, but Eduardo Telmo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice moves Adrian Arnalt could shoot a difficult shot in the 65th minute, which Eduardo Telmo however easily saved by the left post. Eduardo Telmo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Justo Mendez, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. The supporters of Gaona FC booed when Sepultura was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Godfredo Poncio didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 73rdth minute of the game Guaberto Remigio who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Sepultura's Anier Beremundo was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 76 minutes into the match, Gaona FC's goalkeeper Eduardo Telmo had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Justo Mendez. 78 minutes into the match, Justo Mendez dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Eduardo Telmo, 0-2. When the match clock showed 88 minutes, the score became 0-3 when Justo Mendez sped through Gaona FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Eduardo Telmo. Sepultura's Anier Beremundo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Carlos Camerino in the 94th minute of play. Carlos Camerino fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Anier Beremundo having to interfere. The Gaona FC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Sepultura were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
