Antonio Efren showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Damaso Heriberto, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. After 25 played minutes Plate River got a freekick which was hit by Laureano Txaran. Lorenzo Bortzaioriz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 28th match minute, Union FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tiburcio Crispo to maneuver through the defense. Matias Semeno was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 90th minute, Lorenzo Bortzaioriz left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Union FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-2. After 93 played minutes Union FC got a freekick which was hit by Arnulfo Aresti. When Laureano Txaran came up free with the goalie in the 95th minute, the Plate River fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Laureano Txaran couldn't finish the play. Union FC's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
