The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Arsenio Tximitx showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gavino Araoz, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. Sixto Gomez hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. In the 19th minute, CHICHO F.C's Osvaldo Eyague ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Paulo Petrigai. Paulo Petrigai yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. Osvaldo Eyague received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Paulo Petrigai tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Encrucijada booed when CHICHO F.C was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marcelo Tristan didn't get a good kick on the ball. Enzo Gonza sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Arsenio Tximitx made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ulises Rufo in the 36th minute of play. 37 minutes into the match, CHICHO F.C's goal looked a bit too open when Ulises Rufo came free, but Arsenio Tximitx reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 40th match minute, CHICHO F.C was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cesar Rosalio to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 42 minutes, Ulises Rufo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Encrucijada's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ulises Rufo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 43rd minute, Gavino Araoz got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After having played for 47 minutes, Gavino Araoz managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Encrucijada's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gavino Araoz was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ulises Rufo made a kick off. Ulises Rufo succeeded in the game's 52nd minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 1-1. A collision led to Encrucijada getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Sixto Gomez hit a great ball. Benito Bazkoare took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 59th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Arsenio Tximitx. CHICHO F.C's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 60th minute, Robustiano Nabar hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gavino Araoz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Enzo Gonza's late challenge caught a Encrucijada's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Enzo Gonza helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to CHICHO F.C getting a freekick after 71 minutes play. Enzo Gonza hit a great ball. 73 minutes into the game, Benito Bazkoare was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Encrucijada's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave CHICHO F.C the free kick. Benito Bazkoare kicked well hit freekick during the 73rd minute of the match. Paulo Petrigai showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Enzo Gonza, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute. After a defensive mix-up in CHICHO F.C's zone, Gavino Araoz stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Arsenio Tximitx came out of the goal and Gavino Araoz tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 87 minutes into the match, CHICHO F.C's goal looked a bit too open when Ulises Rufo came free, but Arsenio Tximitx reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gavino Araoz recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 93rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Arsenio Tximitx made a fantastic save in the 96th minute, when Gavino Araoz sent off a good shot on target. The Encrucijada supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Encrucijada would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
