The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Nicanor Astigar to strike the kick off in the second half. The Los Buitres fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-1. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Casimiro Guipuzkoa during the 71st minute. The coaching staff of Los Buitres protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Damaso Lohitzun had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. After 81 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Los Buitres! Saturnino Mejia shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal.
