Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Marcelo Ascencio got the match started through his kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Los Buitres's zone, Pastor Llorienzo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alvaro Frutos came out of the goal and Pastor Llorienzo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 7th minute Victor Galeno shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alvaro Frutos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Alvaro Frutos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marcelo Ascencio in the 9th minute of play. In the 11th minute, Filomeno Sal hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Pastor Llorienzo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alvaro Frutos having to interfere. After a rather tough play, SS Español's Roberto Soter got a free kick in the 28th minute. After 29 played minutes Marcelo Ascencio could catch the ball where he stood relatively free a bit outside the goal and without hesitation he completed 1-0 into the left cross. When German Nastasio fell near the penalty area in the 38th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SS Español's protests and gave German Nastasio a yellow card for diving instead. In the 38th minute, German Nastasio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Los Buitres's Julio Ondino got a good chance for a goal in the 42nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Nicanor Astigar stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 55th match minute, SS Español was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Roberto Soter to maneuver through the defense. Nicanor Astigar struck a weak shot in the 57th minute. Javier Marz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Los Buitres. Octavio Garikoitz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Javier Marz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the match had gone on for 66 minutes, Marcelo Ascencio put it in 2-0 from a short distance just to the right of Alvaro Frutos. The supporters of Los Buitres booed when SS Español was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pastor Llorienzo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Javier Marz made an important save on a dangerous shot by Nicanor Astigar in the 71st minute. 74 minutes into the match, SS Español's goalkeeper Javier Marz had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ramiro Piorno. 77 minutes into the game, SS Español's Marcelo Ascencio nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Alvaro Frutos made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-0. 81 minutes into the game, Nicanor Astigar cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-1. Javier Marz was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Marcelo Ascencio kicked well hit freekick during the 83rd minute of the match. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Nicanor Astigar received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Javier Marz came out and tried to block the shot, but Nicanor Astigar slotted it home off the left post making it 3-2 in the 87th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marcelo Ascencio in the 96th minute of play forced Los Buitres's goalkeeper Alvaro Frutos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The SS Español players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
