The audience thought a goal was coming when Filomeno Lorien got free with Manuel Arnalt in the 5th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After some fancy dribbling in the 10th minute, Diego Guerau managed to get in a good position for a shot. The audience was convinced that Diego Guerau's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Fidel Niva was relentless in the 13th minute of the game. In the 15th match minute, Independiente was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ubaldo Giro to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 20 minutes, Filomeno Lorien managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Independiente's supporters crossed their fingers, but Filomeno Lorien was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 21st minute of the match, Fausto Beltran tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Manuel Arnalt saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. C.A.Talleres's Manuel Arnalt played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fausto Beltran in the 23rd minute of play. In the 27th minute, Diego Guerau left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The C.A.Talleres fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Prospero Ospin hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. Independiente were awarded a corner in the 32th minute after C.A.Talleres's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Desiderio Tancredo took the corner. After taking down the ball on Independiente's corner Desiderio Tancredo fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Manuel Arnalt quite easily take care of the ball. Manuel Arnalt came out of the goal in the 33rd minute to try and stop a shot by Independiente's Filomeno Lorien. But to his dismay, Filomeno Lorien quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. 38 minutes into the match, Independiente's goal looked a bit too open when Mauro Telo came free, but Fidel Niva reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Independiente's Alejandro Lalla got a free kick in the 38th minute. When the match clock showed 40 minutes, the score became 1-2 when Diego Guerau sped through Independiente's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Fidel Niva. When C.A.Talleres's Diego Guerau in the 46th minute got a chance for a shot 46th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. After 74 minutes, Cristobal Otsoa mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the C.A.Talleres and the Independiente players grew even worse after the yellow card. 74 minutes into the game, one of C.A.Talleres:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. After having played for 82 minutes, Diego Guerau managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. C.A.Talleres's supporters crossed their fingers, but Diego Guerau was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Carlos Nafarroa struck a weak shot in the 83rd minute. Fidel Niva didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for C.A.Talleres. If Diego Guerau had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Saul Seme hit a great freekick 90 minutes into the match. Despite being the better team, C.A.Talleres failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
