Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Faustino Jokin made the kick off and thus started the match. When Benigno Favila came up free with the goalie in the 3rd minute, the Barreal fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Benigno Favila couldn't finish the play. Nemesio Porfirio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Silvestre Clodio, who was totally free with the ball in the 6th minute. Celso Mikelar showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Casimiro Mambru in the 7th minute of the match. After 16 played minutes River plate got a freekick which was hit by Esteve Balendin. In the 17th minute, Victor Etxeberri hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With an all-out effort, Barreal's Celso Mikelar threw himself towards the right post 19 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Lisandro Estevez, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Niceto Ranolfo charged in rather forcefully in the 20th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Niceto Ranolfo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 20th match minute, River plate was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Niceto Ranolfo to maneuver through the defense. When Niceto Estavan came up free with the goalie in the 21st minute, the Barreal fans jumped to their feet. Casimiro Mambru could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 28th minute of the match, but Celso Mikelar made a huge save. The supporters of River plate booed when Barreal was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aquiles Mederi didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Faustino Jokin in the 34th minute of play forced Barreal's goalkeeper Nemesio Porfirio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Celso Mikelar showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Casimiro Mambru in the 39th minute of the match. Emilio Sanson made in the 42nd minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Barreal's Isidoro Fix. 43 minutes into the match, Isidoro Fix notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of River plate's Celso Mikelar. Celso Mikelar was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Casimiro Mambru made a kick off. Filiberto Quintana's late challenge caught a River plate's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Filiberto Quintana helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Barreal's Filiberto Quintana got a free kick in the 53rd minute. If Silvestre Clodio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 57th minute of the match, Silvestre Clodio got a very nice opportunity to score, but Nemesio Porfirio was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Niceto Estavan took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 61st minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Celso Mikelar. River plate's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 70th match minute, River plate was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jonathan Gelmiro to maneuver through the defense. Lisandro Estevez took the ball and in the 71 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Celso Mikelar. Celso Mikelar dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. Leopoldo Valery hit a great freekick 74 minutes into the match. In the 78th minute, Esteve Balendin ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Nemesio Porfirio was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-2. Nemesio Porfirio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Silvestre Clodio in the 84th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Barreal's Casimiro Mambru got a free kick in the 84th minute. Barreal's Nemesio Porfirio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jonathan Gelmiro in the 89th minute of play. In the 91st minute, River plate's Jonathan Gelmiro dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-3. River plate were furious when Niceto Ranolfo was red carded, 94 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. In the 93rd minute, one of River plate:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for River plate.
