Marcelo Tiniebra showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Genaro Sasoin, who was totally free with the ball in the 7th minute. Marcelo Tiniebra made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Genaro Sasoin in the 8th minute of play. Mariano Cefero scored 0-1 in the 10th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Marcelo Tiniebra, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When Amancio Frances came up free with the goalie in the 14th minute, the Legionarios fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Amancio Frances couldn't finish the play. Marcelo Tiniebra didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Mariano Cefero went, in the 18th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. 22 minutes into the match, Genaro Sasoin had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Marcelo Tiniebra. Legionarios's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Genaro Sasoin was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. After a defensive mix-up in Los Rusticos's zone, Carlos Mino stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Raul Paio came out of the goal and Carlos Mino tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 29th minute Amancio Frances shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Raul Paio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Carlos Mino came up free with the goalie in the 35th minute, the Legionarios fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Carlos Mino couldn't finish the play. Marcelo Tiniebra showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Genaro Sasoin in the 39th minute of the match. Genaro Sasoin took the ball and in the 40 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Marcelo Tiniebra. Marcelo Tiniebra dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-4. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-5.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Carlos Mino stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Saverio Diaz hit a great freekick 51 minutes into the match. Marcelo Tiniebra was out of position in the 52 minute of play, and Juan Lixandro capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Juan Lixandro really showed his touch with that goal: 0-6. In the 58thth minute of the game Amancio Frances who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Los Rusticos's Raul Paio was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Amancio Frances took the ball and in the 59 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Raul Paio. Raul Paio dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-6. 65 minutes into the match, Legionarios's Amancio Frances sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Raul Paio narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Raul Paio stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Amancio Frances's shot from short distance in the 66th minute. In the 69th minute Carlos Mino shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Raul Paio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Legionarios's Vicente Poz pulled a muscle in his back after 72 minutes and couldn't finish the game. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Teodoro Raulo during the 72nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The audience was convinced that Carlos Mino's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Raul Paio was relentless in the 75th minute of the game. Marcelo Tiniebra took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Teodoro Raulo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 85th minute, Nemesio Sanchez got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Raul Paio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Carlos Mino in the 87th minute of play. When Legionarios's Carlos Mino in the 89th minute got a chance for a shot 89th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. The Legionarios supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Los Rusticos's performance. The match ended with a win for Los Rusticos.
