El Fortin's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lucio Alonso was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Prospero Gonsalvo succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-0 in the 31st playminute. 39 minutes into the game, Rogelio Remir was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Tristeza Nao Tem Fim's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave El Fortin the free kick. Tomás Castulo struck a weak shot in the 42nd minute. Ezequiel Lain didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for El Fortin. Tristeza Nao Tem Fim's Evelio Gagriel quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Tomas Goren, made in the 46th minute of the game. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Claudio Azevedo during the 48th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 48th minute, Claudio Azevedo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 49th minute Mariano Osoitz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benigno Euloxu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Tomás Castulo to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 59th match minute, Tristeza Nao Tem Fim was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Evelio Gagriel to maneuver through the defense. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Rogelio Remir in the 62nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Benigno Euloxu saved El Fortin from getting behind. Tristeza Nao Tem Fim's Ezequiel Lain proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 73rd minute of the match, managed to save Tristeza Nao Tem Fim from getting a goal against them. In the 80th minute, Evelio Gagriel hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 87th minute, Rogelio Remir made a precise shot to the right of Benigno Euloxu. El Fortin's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. The audience was convinced that Tomás Castulo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ezequiel Lain was relentless in the 95th minute of the game. El Fortin's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
